Just a Witch

“When, however, one reads of a witch being ducked, of a woman possessed by devils, of a wise woman selling herbs, or even of a very remarkable man who had a mother, then I think we are on the track of a lost novelist, a suppressed poet, of some mute and inglorious Jane Austen, some Emily Bronte who dashed her brains out on the moor or mopped and mowed about the highways crazed with the torture that her gift had put her to. Indeed, I would venture to guess that Anon, who wrote so many poems without signing them, was often a woman.”

It is Halloween!

'Tis now the very witching time of night,
When churchyards yawn and hell itself breathes out
Contagion to this world.

the moon laughs and whispers,
‘tis near Halloween.

Ellora and Spooky

Couldn't resist drawing a witch especially now that Halloween is around the corner. I used watercolor pencils, oil pastels and acrylics. Her name is Ellora and she's a modern witch that's why she's wearing purple instead of black. Her cat's name is Spooky and they live in my heart.

Crafting Blooming Howls - O'Sister

Sisterhood of Roses

O' Sister!
Come with me
and bring the candles.
The earth is damp and
the water is still.

Let's dance and chant
till you become one with
the light.
Let this light spread all
around you and into infinity.
Rejoice sister, rejoice!

O' Sister!
Your blood is my blood,
in perfect love and in perfect trust,
we must live and let live.
This heart of mine is what
I have to give.
Hold it in your hands as
our sisterhood of roses comes into
bloom.
Feel the perfume, feel the perfume.

O' Sister!
Beauty, strength and compassion
are within you.
Honor our Mother
and the perfect words.
Let's sing, make music and make
love to celebrate for here is
the wine of life.

O' Sister
Come with me,
by the powers of Wind
and The Sea,
by the might of the Moon
and the Sun
Our sisterhood of roses
is in your veins.
Our sisterhood of roses
can't be undone.

Do you believe in potions?

"On every full moon, rituals ... take place on hilltops,
beaches, in open fields and in ordinary houses.
Writers, teachers, nurses, computer programmers,
artists, lawyers, poets, plumbers,
and auto mechanics -- women and men from many backgrounds
come together to celebrate the mysteries of the Triple Goddess of the Dance of Life.
The religion they practice is called Witchcraft."

A Vintage Witch

If you ever watched Practical Magic, you will remember this:

"There is a little witch in every woman."

And if you consider our capacity of changing things and immense creativity, you will understand that most of us know our craft.
Simon Says wanted to see some Witch-Kraft so here is mine.Tag Along wanted something vintage.Glitter-n-Sparks wanted butterflies and Crafter's Cafe challenged us to use our punches and dies.

Wanna a bite?

Queen: And because you've been so good to poor old Granny, I'll share a secret with you. This is no ordinary apple, it's a magic *wishing* apple.
Snow White: A wishing apple?
Queen: Yes! One bite, and all your dreams will come true.
Snow White: Really?
Queen: Yes, girlie. Now, make a wish, and take a bite.

"Witch" is just a religion, okay?

“Witch' is just a religion, okay? No baby-sacrificing, no Black Masses, no sending imps out to scare the dog-snot out of kids, trying to make them think they're crazy. We don't do things like that. Our number-one law is 'Have fun in this lifetime, but don't hurt anybody.'
Nice little paraphrase of "An it harm none, do as ye will" if I do say so myself.”

She is the beauty of the moon

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and cauldron bubble.
Eye of new, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg, and owlet's wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
