Hello my T-Friends!

I am a bit late today. I hope you are well. Last week my friends and I went to a protest against the new labor and social security reforms. Thousands and thousands people were there. It ended in a clash with the police. 19 capitals protested too. Some photos below:

 I hope those reforms never happen. Otherwise  we will spend our life working and retire at almost 70. Neo-liberalism destroys everything. It enslaves people. Although I was born during dictatorship, my father taught me to have wings and to think big. So if I can fight, I will.

I am glad art can help me to overcome my fears. I created the page below  for Color Me Positive 2017.

T stands for Hope

Hello My T- Friends!

Last week was terribly insane. My furry friend had her second leg amputated. We both suffered because I didn't want her to go through another surgery but it was necessary. She was in pain due to an osteosarcoma. She was discharged last monday after five days of hospitalization. She's well now and today she had her stitches removed. Babi - my furry friend has been teaching me a lot. She has endured pain with immense strenght and resignation. And believe you or not she's now walking on her two legs. Sometimes we see an obstacle and we give up fast. Babi has taught me to be strong and to believe we can everything. She's my heroine. I love her so much. I know I will lose her in the long run but right now she's alive and that is all that matters.

I hope my art can always save me from my limitations as a human being because sometimes I feel my heart is out and that makes me so vulnerable.

T stands for Travel

Hello My T-Friends!

How are you today? I hpe you are well. As I told you I travelled last week to a small city in the north of Rio de Janeiro. There are 15 beaches there and they are fascinating. It is a very quiet city and it is perfect if you want to relax. 

I spent five magical days, enjoying the landscape, listening to the waves breaking on the shore. Here are some photos.

 You can see a lot of turtles in the sea from here. It's amazing.

 It was very windy and I am dishevelled ha ha ha. A lot of artisans sell their goods here. I bought a lovely Frida Kahlo painting ( naive art).

 Look at this fabulous graffitti on this house. What a lovely street art!

Here is a friend of mine. We've been friends for over 30 years. She lives there. My daughter is the smiling girl taking the photo.

T stands for Happy Moments

Hello T- Friends!

How are you? Today I don't have anything new to show you apart from my Halloween parties with my classes. Here I was a witch. As Halloween isn't a tradition in my country, we commemorate it at schools or at English courses most of times. Besides there's a sort of religion intolerance as some evengelicals react against it saying it is evil. I suppose it is difficult to understand the real meaning of Hallloween for most people here. 

And here I am as Frida Kahlo with my 7th grade. It was fun!

I will be travelling in a few days so I hope I can bring something different from my real universe: schools-students to show you. I don't know if I will be able to contribute next week.

T stands for laughters

Hello T-Friends!

I hope life has been treating you well. On october 12th we celebrate Our Lady Of Aparecida: she is our Patron Saint.

We also celebrate children's Day on the same day. So we put on our costumes at school and organized a party for our students.It was fun!

Here we are enjoying ourselves like children. I am wearing a blue sailor costume.

When you walk around the park, you see many statues of gods and goddesses in the green. I will post more photos next Tuesday.

And here are two pages I made this weekend. I was quite inspired.

 I used modelling paste to create my flower. It's a pity it's not visible.

The quote says: " If you think I am weird, respect me too because I was obliged to respect myself.". It was written by Clarice Lispector. She's one of my favourite Brazilian writers. The girl I drew for 29 faces. I have to find a place for all of them.
