Zentangling her

Art Journal Journey asked us for something new so I used my new pens to draw and zentangle this piece. It is good to be back after such a long time.

Magic

It took me some time to draw after such a long time. Life has been quite tough. but if we don't believe in magic and fantasy who will then? Blessed are those who keep their hearts light before the hardest situations.

T stands for Beauty

Hello my T-Friends!

I am a bit late today. I hope you are well. Last week my friends and I went to a protest against the new labor and social security reforms. Thousands and thousands people were there. It ended in a clash with the police. 19 capitals protested too. Some photos below:

My friends and I. We work together at the same school.
I am between the two ladies.

I hope those reforms never happen. Otherwise  we will spend our life working and retire at almost 70. Neo-liberalism destroys everything. It enslaves people. Although I was born during dictatorship, my father taught me to have wings and to think big. So if I can fight, I will.

I am glad art can help me to overcome my fears. I created the page below  for Color Me Positive 2017.
Hope you have a magical week, full of positive vibe. Don't forget to visit Elizabeth and join T stands for Tuesday.

 Hugs,
Karla

T stands for Hope

Hello My T- Friends!

Last week was terribly insane. My furry friend had her second leg amputated. We both suffered because I didn't want her to go through another surgery but it was necessary. She was in pain due to an osteosarcoma. She was discharged last monday after five days of hospitalization. She's well now and today she had her stitches removed. Babi - my furry friend has been teaching me a lot. She has endured pain with immense strenght and resignation. And believe you or not she's now walking on her two legs. Sometimes we see an obstacle and we give up fast. Babi has taught me to be strong and to believe we can everything. She's my heroine. I love her so much. I know I will lose her in the long run but right now she's alive and that is all that matters.

Babi before the surgery

Babi after the surgery
Life does go on, my friends.

Yesterday I had some time so I created a couple of pages for Color Me Positive:

I hope my art can always save me from my limitations as a human being because sometimes I feel my heart is out and that makes me so vulnerable.

Have a magical day and visit Elizabeth!

T stands for Carnival

It's Carnival here my lovelies!

And water is our best friend because it is hot.

Yes, Carnival is a national passion like coffee and soccer and it  is a democratic celebration because everybody gets involved in it as it takes the country hostage from the north to the south. I guess it might be weird for a foreigner to understand us = Brazilian people and only if you come here, you will comprehend our passions and the positive vibe brought by Carnival,

I created some pages for Color me Positive 2017 and some faces for 29 Faces. You can see them below.

Carnival is a holiday here and it lasts a couple of days. So I am at home, creating. But tomorrow I am going to dance in the street together with my daughter and friends. You are invited!

This is for T stands for Tuesday. Visit Elizabeth,

T stands for Beauty

Good Morning My T-Friends!

First of all I'd like to apologise for not being able to leave you all some comments but life has been quite hectic since I came back to work. I only have saturdays and sundays to create something or when I have some time during the week. Apart from that, things are not that easy here. Discontentment is everywhere. Resentment too specially with the new horrible social security measures which establishes a minimum retirement age (65). I miss President Dilma Rousseff. She cared for my people. She fought during dictatorship and she will always be an icon for me.

I'd like to share some watercolor creations from my poetry book but I must confess I haven't written a single line. Poetry is so far away from me right now. There's a havoc in my heart and my muse left me. So there's no inspiration in my life.

But I am grateful there's always a new tomorrow and a new possibility for me and for everybody around the word.
Much Love
Karla
