This picture symbolizes my feelings right now. We all need to be phoenixes and survive our fears and losses. I am grateful I had the opportunity to soar even when life made me crawl. I am also grateful to my father and mother who taught me to believe in myself and fight for a better world even when there was no light at end of the tunnel.

When I was drawing my girl, I was thinking about a student of mine who has purple hair. I mean she's always changing her hair color. It was pink in February. Then it was navy blue and now it is purple. She's a bold girl and I like that.

Hello My Lovelies!

Valerie and Susi from Art Journal Journey wanted things with wings and Pia Rom from Mix it Monthly wanted saints/angels. Well, I tried to kill two birds with one stone and I drew an angel. It's a pity that the effect caused by the purpurine is not visible. My angel is not a conventional one because I do think human beings can be angels too just like In City of Angels. Do you remember it?A film starred by Nicolas Cage and Meg Ryan?Love that film. So here is one of my favourite songs and it belongs to City of Angels soundtrack: It is The Unfeeling Kiss by Gabriel Yared.

What else do you need?

Hello Elizabeth! Hello My Lovelies!

How are you? Hope life has been treating you well. This is my last week at home: yep, work starts on February 2nd. The dream is over. I am an indoor type I confess. Love staying in with my girls. But there is no choice: life is shouting "c'mon Karla! Let's start over, my dear! ". So here I go, afraid of the new educational policies which make  no sense at all, especially after being teaching for 25 years. Neoliberalism destroys everything. I hope to retire before things get worse. What gives me solace is the fact that I love my job.

There is no news about my daughter's university yet. The  process is long and tiring. We are here waiting and waiting. But we will survive.

Zen Cat with Flowers

Since I had some time, I decided to create a journal page. At first, I thought about zentagles but my hands guided me to doodling. It's strange but when I am drawing my mind wanders. It's a sweet sensation.

 I found something very interesting about the process of creativity that I want to share with you:

The Creative Process has six phases…

Inspiration: In which you research and generate many ideas

Clarification: In which you focus on your goals

Evaluation: In which you review your work and learn from it

Distillation: In which you decide which of your ideas to work on

Incubation: In which you leave the work alone

Perspiration: In which you work determinedly on your best ideas

I don't know if I follow all the steps. Maybe just inspiration, clarification, incubation and perspiration. And you?
