T stands for Flowers and Trees

Hello T- Gang!

It's been awhile since I took part in Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday. It was the end of the third bimester here and I work at three schools so you can imagine the amount of work I had correcting tests and evaluating students. Besides all the new policies here made me down. The target is always Education and Social Welfare. Sometimes I think the world has gone mad and I feel like a fish out of water. I wish things could be different for my students and my people. According to the new policies the spending on social welfare will be limited for twenty years.  It will reduce health and education programs dramatically. Needless to say I fear the future.

But let's talk about nice things now. Last week I went to Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden. Let's visit it again with me?

The Japanese Garden

Can you see the kois in the water? I was amazed. What a peaceful place!

I saw a lotus flower for the first time in my life. I wasn't lucky when I visited The Botanical Gardens the other times: there was no lotus flower to be seen. But last Friday  I was amazed. There was only one flower so I had to immortalize it. Can you see me and Miss Lotus?

Here is the orchids greenhouse. So beautiful!Pure delight!

I love orchids. They are rare and difficult to cultivate.

I will post more next week. I took 174 photos. So prepare yourself for an overdose of plants and flowers.

I created some papers. It's all yours. Just right click and save them.

And here is for Susi and Valerie. It is spring here. Today was very hot. We are observing DST now so we are one hour ahead.

I made the background with watercolor pencils. Love the effect.

A flower for you all. Have a magical week and visit Elizabeth's blog.
Hugs,
Karla

  1. Oh gosh, I just left you a long message and accidentally deleted it. I'll try to remember what I said.

First, thanks for the sweets and coffee. I see you included some cream with it, since that's how I drink my coffee.

You are so lucky to have seen a lotus flower. I've never seen one, and I don't think there' anywhere near here that has them. I see lots of orchids on desks on TV and wonder how often they have to be replaced, because they are so difficult to grow. I'm sure these in the greenhouse have just the right amount of heat and humidity to grow their best.

It may be autumn here, but it feels like summer. Today we hit a new record high of 101 F (~39 C). The last record was in 1921, where the record was a mere 94 F (~34 C). I'm sure that lovely autumn inspired art will be quite welcome for Valerie's AJJ theme.

Thanks for sharing your art, your lovely photos, and your coffee and cream with us for T this Tuesday. I look forward to seeing more photos from the Japanese Gardens. And it's so good to have you back on Tuesday, too.

Yes, I worry too about the future and I no longer work. (just as well). There is no money for anything good and positive. Most governments are in survival mode!
    Happy T-Day,
