T stands for Freedom

Hello My Friends!

Last week I couldn't share a cup of coffee with you because I had pharyngitis. Besides, the cold weather affects my allergic rhinitis. So I spent the whole week not breathing well. I am on the mend.
First of all, I'd like to thank Chris for the lovely gifts she sent me. I love them!

Aren't they gorgeous?

Well...are you hungry?Would you like some coffee, a slice of pizza and a piece of cinnamon and dulce de leche cake?
Here they are:
A friend made the cake.It was yummy yummy!

And I also would like to share face number 7

Face 7 - Maysa

Today is our Independence Day and the President said that our gates are open to Syrian immigrants. I am glad she took this decision. After all, we are built by many ethnicities.

Viva Brasil!
Some say freedom is a gift placed in our hands by our forefathers.
Some say freedom is a human right that none should be denied.
Some say freedom is a privilege that can and will be seized if taken for granted.
Some say freedom is the key that opens doors otherwise meant to imprison.
Some say freedom is power to do, to be, to say, and to accomplish what the oppressed cannot.
Some say freedom is a responsibility—a weight to be carried and shared by those willing to protect it.

Perhaps freedom is all these things.

But in my eyes, I see freedom as a treasure. It is a gem so rare and precious the fiercest battles rage over it. The blood of thousands is spilled for it—past, present, and future. Where true and unblemished freedom exists, it shines with perfect clarity, drawing the greedy masses, both those who desire a portion of the spoils and those who would rob the possessor of the treasure, hoping to bury it away.

Without freedom I am a slave in shackles on a ship lost at sea.

With freedom I am a captain; I am a pirate; I am an admiral; I am a scout; I am the eagle souring overhead; I am the north star guiding a crew; I am the ship itself; I am whatever I choose to be.”

  2. Chris sent some beautiful art and pieces like that, too. Isn't she just the sweetest? I like that you opened your napkins because I didn't before I photographed the ones she sent me.

I was SO glad to read that Brazil has opened its doors to Syrians. They have been persecuted enough, and need to find a safe haven. I hope they are able to make it to Brazil.

Sorry to read about your pharyngitis. I hope the swelling has gone down by now.

You are such a tease. I am now really hungry for pizza and cake, two things I don't need. I would be glad to share a cup of coffee with you, though.

Thanks for sharing your coffee, food, lovely face, and hope for the Syrians with us for T this week.

  4. Sorry to hear you were ill, but you got some lovely gifts from Chris. Your cake looks delicious, yummy! The face is beautiful. We have thousands of Syrian refugees arriving in Germany daily, and I am happy that the majority of people are welcoming them and helping them. Glad that some will be able to settle in your country, too. Have a happy T day, hugs, Valerie

  15. So nice that you've got gifts and delicious cake from your friends.
Your painted faces are expressive and beautiful.
You are exceptionally good person who think and try to help poor people. Refugees from Syria and other countries where war is, are coming to Finland, too. Our prime minister will give his own home to some of them, because he and his family have now official house.
He wants to give good example us.
Have a peaceful, happy time Soul Sister ♥

It's good to see the Syrians are being welcomed in so many countries - there are many people in this country organising ways to welcome them. I love your faces and CAKE. . . . . although I will only pop by to catch the aroma. . . . diabetes is a big nuisance! Couldn't join in this week but can't resist a few visits! Hugs, Chrisx
