T stands for Venting

Hello My Lovelies!

It's July and The Olympic Games are next month . Needless to say we have paid a high price for this event: evictions, clashes, schools and hospitals in poor conditions,  street demonstrations, arrests, environmental crimes and etc. We are not happy. But we have to swallow everything although we are not meek as we used to be during dictatorship.
Yes, I am venting. No, we won't be bad hosts and hostesses because our anger is towards our politicians. We are still warm. I just hope Mother Democracy could treat us with more dignity. But we are still crawling and Mother Democracy doesn't care much about us. I am sorry for my bitterness but I want you to know what's happening here.

  1. Sorry to hear it. Politicians seem to have forgotten what democracy is in many parts of the world. All the best to you, hugs, Valerie

  6. im sorry to hear all is not well. i wish having the Olympics helped more than it hurt....I've often wondered why they just don't build an Olympic complex somewhere and just have it in the same place every year but then i was informed that they moved it around so they could spread the wealth to other countries.... but listening to you it doesn't seem to be that way...........

Love your journal page my dear.... Happy happy Tday! Hugs! deb

  7. Oh Karla! When I read that article I understood exactly how you feel! Politicians are so keen to make a name for themselves they forget about the people they are supposed to represent! I hope that the Olympic spirit can overcome some of these things! Hugs, Chrisx

  11. You are possibly not aware that I had a major meltdown a week ago when I lost both my internet and my telephone. After I got them back, a flood in my basement put me out of commission.

You may or may not remember last year when I got so excited about Brazil hosting the Olympics. In fact, I started counting down the months until I could celebrate with you. Then the problems started, where athletes were caught doping, other athletes refused to go due to the incredibly unsanitary conditions of the water, the fear of the zika virus, and how politicians were not spending (or allocating) the money that had supposedly set aside for this international event. I've kept silent about my feelings on it, but I was glad to read you were as devastated as I, in fact, probably more so. Keep your head high and teach those kids the meaning of democracy.

Thank you for sharing your lovely digital art and your thoughts on the Olympics next month with us for T last week.
