Hello Dear Friends!
Hope you are well.Today I have some photos to share from one of our traditional celebrations . Let me explain first: June, July and August are lively months here. We have bonfires, lots of dancing and we eat typical food and drink hot spicy wine. We also dress up like country bumpkins and play traditional games. Men dress
up as farm boys with large straw hats and women wear pigtails, freckles,
painted gap teeth and red-checkered dresses, It is our loving tribute to the
origins of our country music. Below are the photos of our celebration at school:

For T stands for Tuesday

Karla, the celebration is lovely and I enjoyed seeing all the children as they danced and carried on. What fun they must have had. I also enjoyed your beautiful art, especially since it's winter there. Those kids didn't dress like it was winter, though. Here, we wear heavy coats, gloves, and scarves to keep out the cold. It's amazing seeing how your typical (and not so typical) day is. I enjoyed it a lot. Thanks for sharing these memories with us for T this Tuesday. 11 1/2 months till the Olympics.
ResponderExcluirLove your art - beautiful as always - and the photos of the celebration, what fun! We all need things to celebrate here and there. Happy T day, hugs, Valerie

I so enjoyed looking at the photos of the children dancing and your explanation about the festivities. I wish I could hear the music. I have no idea what Brazilian folk music sounds like. My husband used to lead a folk band in England and we love folk dancing. Keeping the old dances alive.
ResponderExcluirI love your note book cover about coffee. Mmmm I can taste it now!
Have a happy Tuesday,

ResponderExcluirI would have never guessed the photos were from Brazil.
Your art journal page is lovely and really puts me in the mood for a cuppa coffee too :-)
Happy T Day dear Karla.

Those dresses remind me of the dresses I wore when I did square dancing as a child. This celebration looks like such fun!

What a wonderful celebration this must have been! I have never heard Brazilian folk music either but will be searching the "net" to hear some. The costumes are so colorful and the smiles are beyond words. LOVED all the pictures, so much fun!

That does look like a lot of fun! Similar to our country square dances and ho-downs, I think. Thanks for sharing the pictures! Ohm and I love the girl drinking the hot cuppa. Happy T-Day! :)
