T stands for Homemade Sweets

Hello Elizabeth!Hello My Lovelies!

Hope everything is well at your end. Do you like sweets?I do. Have I told you my daughter makes sweet to sell? Well, she wants to have a bakery some day. It is so good to be young: everything is possible. She's even got a page on Facebook. I love to see her cooking and her passion for gastronomy in general. She cooks, adorns the sweets and even delivers them. I like her effort to be good at what she does. She makes me proud.
Some photos of her sweets:

So today I'm going to share a recipe of a very popular sweet here in Brazil. It is called: brigadeiro. It is a Brazilian truffle. It is a thick mix of condensed milk, butter and chocolate powder rolled into small balls.

  • INGREDIENTS

  • 1(14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1tablespoon margarine
  • 3tablespoons cocoa powder

  • DIRECTIONS
    1. Cook over medium-low heat, stir vigorously the sweetened condensed milk, margarine and cocoa powder.
    2. Cook the mixture until it thickens enough to show the pan bottom during stirring.
    3. Pour the mixture in a greased dish and let it cool to room temperature. Take small amounts of the mixture with a teaspoon and make 1 ½ inch balls.
    4. Roll the balls over chocolate jimmies to decorate.
    5. Hint: Grease your hands with margarine to make the balls easily.
    6. The cheapest , low grade sweetened condensed milk is the best to make the brigadeiro because they have more starch on them, which helps the candy to hold the shape.
    7. Hope you like it!

  1. Karla, I love your rather risque lady who drinks coffee and reads books. I really like her shoes, even though I could never wear them.

How lovely that your daughter has found something she truly enjoys. Looks like her baskets will sell well.

I want to try that recipe once it cools a bit around here. It would be a great gift at Christmas, too. I hope I can replace butter for the margarine, because I don't ever use it. It has too much wax in it for me.

Thanks for joining us for T this Tuesday and sharing your coffee beauty and your recipe for brigadeiro.
