Sewing My Heart

My grandmother was a seamstress. She could also knit and crochet very well. My mother could sew and knit very well too. Unfortunately, she's got Alzheimer now. I miss the things my mother used to do so beautifully. I miss my grandmother. What a tapestry of emotions the theme hosted this month by Art Journal Journey have brought to me!

  1. The lady is lovely and the old fashioned treadle sewing machine reminded me of my grandmother who refused to let me buy her an electric machine. She sewed on one like that shown in your art until she died. This is a beautiful entry for Halle's theme at Art Journal Journey. It was wonderful to see you at AJJ and posting on your blog again.

  4. Beautiful piece. Alzheimer's is so cruel. My dad had dementia so I understand the struggle all too well.

  5. What a gorgeous page. Is that beautiful woman your grandmother? My mother was a seamstress, and my grandmother was a knitter/crocheter, so I can relate to your story. I love how you set up your page and the buttons, lace and other notions. Thanks for joining Halle's challenge. hugs-Erika
