Carmem Miranda - The Lady in Tutti-Frutti Hat

We owe so much to Carmem Miranda - the Brazilian Bombshell. She was the first one to promote our culture/our music abroad. Carmem Miranda is for us - Brazilians what Evita Péron is for Argentina and Frida Kahlo is for Mexico. Her fruit-laden hats are iconic visuals recognized around the world.

"Look at me and tell me if I don't have Brazil in every curve of my body."
Carmem Miranda
